The RCAAQ is visiting the Quebec Native Friendship Centres with our Elder and Senator Dominique T8aminik Rankin: Workshops on Sacred Tobacco"Tobacco plays a central role in our ceremonies," says T8aminik Rankin. "It is a sacred plant given to us by Mother Earth. When I speak of medicine, I include everything that contributes to the health and wellness of living beings." At this workshop, elder T8aminik will invite you to see tobacco in an entirely new way. With him as your guide, you will make your own medicine bag of leather as a means of reconnecting more directly with the medicine of our ancestors. A survivor of the Amos residential school, T8aminik will give vibrant testimony on the important role played by self-respect and forgiveness in helping us learn to make peace with oneself. This is a workshop you won’t want to miss!
