The Centre d’amitié autochtone de Sept-Îles (CAASÎ) is open since December 8, 2006. Its mission is to build bridges between all peoples, promote the culture and provide support in order to improve the quality of life of urban Aboriginals living in and transiting through Sept-Îles. OVERVIEW OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICESThe CAASÎ offers various free services such as access to internet, to a fax, a photocopy machine, a phone, and the friendship soup everyday at 11:30 am. Moreover, it now offers a new consultation and referral service. Weekly workshops are organized on themes such as health, culture, economy, language, education, cohabitation, the various cultures, rights as well as knowledge transfer. The team and its Youth Council organize activities for the youth aged 10 to 24, every weekday, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Since January 2010, we offer the services of a drop-in day care centre: the Friendship Centre’s “Maikaniss” little wolves’ den is open every weekday. The Centre d'amitié autochtone de Sept-Îles offers various programs for children aged 0 to 5 such as PAPACUN and ENSEMBLE AVEC NOS DIFFÉRENCES (Together with our differences).
