SIRCAAQ’s fourth community living environment will be located in Chibougamau, on 4th Street. It will be adjacent to Awash Utamet, an Indigenous childcare centre.
The housing project will welcome Indigenous students and their families who are starting, continuing or returning to school.
Thoughtfully designed spaces
The community living environment in Chibougamau will be designed in ways that meet the needs students have expressed, such as for collaborative workspaces, consultation offices, outdoor areas for cultural activities and a drop-in daycare centre.
The units are assigned based on the number of people in the family. Rent will be adjusted according to the financial situation of the student and their family, as well as their eligibility for the Société d’habitation du Québec’s Rent Supplement Program.
